Zipcar, a car rental company, just introduced a new plug-in electric Prius available for rental. The new vehicle runs on electricity and admits no emissions. Portland, along with Boston and San Francisco, will be the first to receive the new electric Prius. They will be short supply however, since only eight cars will be distributed between the three cities.
This caught my attention since I'm noticing that the electric car trend is starting to build up popularity. Plug-in charging stations are starting to appear in California and other states are considering investing in them. Chevrolet and Nissan recently introduced their own plug-in electric cars that hope to lure car buyers away from hybrids. Because of this popularity, could all new cars eventually become all electric powered?
