Care for Life- Making a Difference

Care for Life is a nonprofit organization that helps people in Mozambique, Africa. The people of Mozambique have short life expectancies, low incomes, natural disasters that have stripped the land, and a high percentage for HIV and Care for Life focuses on promoting health, education and literacy, food and nourishment, and income.

One of the many ways Care for Life helps consists of caring for orphans with HIV. Many of these children are neglected with no caregiver or families for many reasons. Parents may leave their children because they do not want the infection or simply because they do not have the necessities and resources to care for an orphan child. Care for Life helps with improving hygiene, health, and sanitation. They also help children enroll in school by assisting families and providing them with enrollment fees, food, and medicine.

The schooling educates families about the importance of caring for children with HIV. Care for Life also have clubs to emotionally and physically support the children and allow them to interact and participate in dance, drama, and athletics.

I found this organization interesting because it helps the people of Mozambique in many different ways from education, agriculture, and health. Also, volunteers and internships are offered to those who want to participate in volunteering with individual's with specific needs.
If you could volunteer, what area of interest would you pick? Educating children with proper hygiene, interacting with orphans in activities, or focus on social and pyscho- well being of others?
