What pulled me into this article was the amazing generosity and support that the local Hyundai dealership shows by making a donation of $100,000; when I read this article I thought it was very nice to know that rich corporations care about their community and making a difference.
The "Hope Grant" is supporting the research dedicated to improving the lives of children with cancer, and will be mainly used to research childhood muscular cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma, childhood brain tumors, medulloblastoma.
Do you think that famous people who appear at charity event and fundraisers are mainly there to build their appearance rather than the actual cause? How do they hear about these events, do they have people working for them who let them know what is coming up or do they follow the organizations themselves? And finally, was this generous donation an appearance improver or a simple act of kindness?

those are definitely hard questions! it's hard not to be skeptical when famous corporations seem to take interest in charities. My philosophy would be to assume the best until given a reason to believe otherwise.
