This article is informing people about StoryCorp and what the National Day of Listening is; the first day after thanksgiving every year since 2008 new stories have been added to a website that is for people to be able to find stoies that have been added that may relate to theirs. This website shares stories from pasted experiences with future generations, in hopes that if future generations need some encouragement they can find it there.
OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital has been asked to be the official representative of Oregon. To be the Official representative of Oregon OHSU's Doernbecher will need to record or interview family members, patients, nurses, doctors, and volunteers for their stories that may bring hope and encouragement to others.
This article grabbed my attention because of what it talks about and stands for;to me this article stands for hope, it shows pasted success stories to newly diagnosed people with the goal of keeping heads high.
Can listening to the stories from nurses, doctors, patients, and family members raise someones spirits? This day has been around since 2008, do you think that it has or can make a difference in bringing encouragement, strength and hope to future generations? And do you think that stories posted on a website would have as Strong of a affect as an in person sharing? Could these stories be as easy to find or hear without a website?

I think that when people read about tragedies that happened to other people that relate to themselves and how they overcame it, it gives them a sense of hope. When I read about stories that happened to people, it makes me think of ways that I could help to prevent it from happening again. I thought this article was good and I choose to comment about it as well because I am doing my newsletter for OHSU and I have read about Doernbecher and their newsletter and found it to be great.
